Jeremy Farrar is a world-renowned tropical medicine expert and a key leader in global public health. He is currently the Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO), where he helps guide the world’s response to disease outbreaks. Before joining the WHO, Jeremy spent over a decade as the Director of the Wellcome Trust, one of the world’s largest health foundations. His 18 years of research in Vietnam gave him a deep understanding of tropical health and emerging infections. Known for his work during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jeremy was a central voice in advising global leaders and governments on the scientific response. He has contributed to over 500 scientific papers and has been honored as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his services to medicine.
