Gunhild Stordalen is a physician and philanthropist who is a leading voice in the global movement for a healthier and more sustainable food system. As the founder and executive chair of the EAT Foundation, she works to transform how the world produces and eats food. In 2013, she launched the EAT Initiative, which has since grown into a major global movement. EAT brings together leaders from science, business, and government to find new ways to ensure everyone has access to healthy food, without harming the planet. A key part of her work was co-founding the EAT-Lancet Commission, which produced a landmark report outlining a “planetary health diet.” This diet shows how we can feed a growing global population in a way that is good for both people and the planet. Gunhild also serves on several international boards, including the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Food Security and Agriculture. Through her leadership and collaboration, she is helping to build a more sustainable future.
