BIO:
Geeta Nayyar, M.D., M.B.A. is the Chief Medicaland Innovation Officer at Femwell Group Health, as well as the former Chief Medical Information Officer at AT&T. As CMIO, Dr. Nayyar provided industry knowledge to help guide the AT&T ForHealth portfolio strategy.

Dr. Nayyar held a diverse range of clinical and executive roles across the healthcare industry, giving her a unique perspective bridging clinical medicine, business, communications and health technology. She continues to practice and teach medicine part time and brings a real world view to healthcare delivery.

Prior to joining AT&T, Dr. Nayyar served as the Principal Medical Officer at Vangent, Inc. In this role, she provided subject matter expertise, thought leadership, and strategic direction as part of a senior member of Vangent’s Health Strategy and Innovation Group. Earlier, she also served as the Chief Medical Officer of APCO Worldwide, a public affairs and strategic communications firm, where she specialized in advising healthcare clients on health policy issues and provided a clinical perspective to clients seeking to communicate critical healthcare issues to a wide set of stakeholders including policy makers, opinion-elites, and the general public.

Dr. Nayyar is recognized as a leader in the healthcare industry and was named one of the “Top 25 Minority Healthcare Executives” by Modern Healthcare in 2012. She is quoted extensively in the media and has appeared on ABC News and been quoted by The Washington Post on Health IT. She was listed as one of the Top 100 twitter lists to follow regarding Health IT and her blog was named a “Top 10 Health IT Blog” listed by Health in 30. She regularly addresses major industry forums and currently serves as a member of the advisory board of the Healthcare Information and Management System Society (HIMSS).

Dr. Nayyar holds memberships and committee appointments in several professional organizations including the American College of Rheumatology and the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems.

Dr. Nayyar received her Medical Doctor and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Miami. She earned her Master of Business Administration from George Washington University, where she currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine for the Department of Rheumatology.

As the leader of Qualcomm’s health care subsidiary, Qualcomm Life Inc., Rick directs Qualcomm’s global, wireless health product and technology strategy. He also has a hand in driving innovation through Qualcomm’s $100 million Qualcomm Life Fund. 

Prior to joining Qualcomm, Rick was a serial entrepreneur – most recently as the founder and CEO of ProfitLine – where he built the company from a one-man show into a multi-million dollar enterprise and a successful exit.  He now shares his entrepreneurial know-how by helping fellow entrepreneurs launch meaningful and enduring businesses as a mentor at Rock Health, The Founder Institute, EvoNexus, CONNECT and on the Executive Committee of the San Diego MIT Enterprise Forum.

Jennifer Kurkoski directs Google’s People & Innovation Lab (PiLab) that conducts research aimed at improving the company’s organizational practices. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and Slate, as well as on the BBC and ABC’s Nightline. Previously, Jennifer led community management for Excite@Home and consulted with nonprofit organizations on leadership development. Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Organizational Behavior) from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

In 2011, Dr. Marleece Barber joined Lockheed Martin as Director of Health & Wellness and Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Barber is responsible for the Corporation’s strategy for Health & Wellness, which includes developing innovative and cost-conscious methods for increasing the overall health of Lockheed Martin’s 120,000 employees. Dr. Barber’s focus is on developing a workforce that is knowledgeable about health care and that is more responsible for their personal health and wellbeing. Creatively highlighting the importance of prevention is key to the program’s success.

Jeff DeGraff is Professor of Management and Organizations at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Jeff’s research and writing focuses on leading innovation. He is co-author of several books including Creativity at Work, Leading Innovation and Competing Values Leadership. His public television program Innovation You introduces his ideas about innovation to viewers across America. Jeff’s opinions on contemporary business matters are covered by NPR, Business Week, US News and World Report, Fortune and the Wall Street Journal to name a few. He writes syndicated columns and blog for Psychology Today, Big Think, LinkedIn and the Huffington Post.  He has consulted with hundreds of the world’s most prominent firms and has developed a broad array of widely used creativity and innovation methodologies and tools. Dr. DeGraff founded a leading innovation institute, Innovatrium, with labs in Ann Arbor and Atlanta. Jeff got his nickname, the Dean of Innovation, while he was a member of the executive team at Domino’s Pizza when it was one of the fastest growing businesses in the world in the 1980’s.
