About Tig
Tig Notaro is a highly respected comedian, writer, and actress celebrated for her honest, deadpan humor and skillful storytelling. Born in Mississippi and raised in Texas, she has become one of the most distinctive voices in stand-up comedy. Her career took a famous turn in 2012 with a highly emotional and raw live set where she revealed her recent cancer diagnosis, which was later released as the Grammy-nominated album, Live. This period of her life was also the subject of her memoir, I’m Just a Person (2016), and the documentary, Tig (2015). Tig has starred in multiple Emmy-nominated stand-up specials, including Boyish Girl Interrupted and her latest special, Hello Again, which premiered on Prime Video in March 2024. She also created and starred in the semi-autobiographical comedy series, One Mississippi (2016-2017). Beyond stand-up, Tig maintains a busy acting and directing schedule. She has a recurring role as Jett Reno in the popular series Star Trek: Discovery and has appeared in hit shows like The Morning Show. With her wife, Stephanie Allynne, she co-directed the 2022 feature film Am I Ok?. She continues to connect with fans through her podcast, Handsome, which she co-hosts with fellow comedians Fortune Feimster and Mae Martin.
