Amber Galloway Gallego is a well-known music sign language interpreter and advocate for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. She has revolutionized the way music is interpreted, moving beyond a simple word-for-word translation to a dynamic and emotional performance. Inspired by the Deaf community’s desire to feel and experience music in the same way as hearing people, Amber developed her own style. She and her team, through her company Amber G Productions, deeply analyze every layer of a song, from the lyrics and beat to the mood and energy. This allows her to convey the full emotion of a performance, creating a truly immersive experience for the audience. She has performed for major artists, including A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In addition to her work as an interpreter, Amber is an active advocate. She uses her platform to fight for greater accessibility and equality in entertainment. She is a mentor and educator, teaching future interpreters and raising awareness about the cultural and artistic richness of American Sign Language.
