About Sarah
Sarah Gray is a compelling author, speaker, and public health advocate whose life’s mission is to humanize the process of tissue and organ donation. Her path began after the tragic loss of her infant son, Thomas. As she and her husband navigated their grief, they chose to donate Thomas’s tissues to medical research, a journey that ultimately brought them profound peace by giving meaning to their loss. This powerful, deeply personal experience led Sarah to dedicate her career to bridging the gap between donor families and the medical science they support. She previously served on the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) Donor Family Guidance Committee, helping to shape compassionate policies. Her memoir, A Life Everlasting: The Extraordinary Story of One Boy’s Gift to Medical Science, was published in 2017. The book became a national bestseller and is often used by hospitals and universities to educate readers about the critical importance and ethics of tissue donation for research. Today, Sarah continues her advocacy work by speaking worldwide. She uses her story—and the stories of the researchers who benefited from Thomas’s gift—to show how donation supports groundbreaking science, from cancer treatments to diabetes research.
