About Thomas
Thomas Goetz is a leading figure in digital health, combining his skills as a journalist, author, and entrepreneur to help people make better decisions about their well-being. He believes in using both personal experience and scientific data to simplify complicated health issues. Thomas is the co-founder of Iodine, a digital health company that was known as the “Yelp for medicine” because it helped millions of people understand which medications worked best for them. Iodine was later acquired by GoodRx, where Thomas served as the Chief of Research until 2023. In this role, he continued to apply data and design to make healthcare information more affordable and easier to use. Before focusing on health tech, Thomas served for over a decade as the Executive Editor of WIRED magazine, where his leadership helped the publication win over a dozen National Magazine Awards. He is the author of two highly praised books. His first, The Decision Tree, offered a new vision for patient-centered healthcare. His second, The Remedy: Robert Koch, Arthur Conan Doyle, & the Quest to Cure Tuberculosis, is a fascinating history of the origins of modern medicine. In addition to his business ventures, Thomas is now also a co-founder of Building H, a non-profit organization dedicated to building health into everyday life.
