Caitlin Doughty is a licensed mortician, a best-selling author, and a leader in the death-positive movement. She began her career in the funeral industry as a crematory operator and is now the owner of Undertaking LA, a non-profit funeral home in Los Angeles. Through her funeral home, she works to empower families to be more involved in the care of their loved ones after death. She also founded The Order of the Good Death, a group of professionals, artists, and academics dedicated to making our culture more comfortable with its own mortality. Caitlin is a prominent voice on social media, where her popular YouTube series, “Ask a Mortician,” answers the public’s most curious questions about death and the funeral industry. She is a New York Times best-selling author of several books, including Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, From Here to Eternity, and Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? Through her writing and videos, Caitlin helps people face their fears about death with honesty and a touch of humor.
