Stan Lapidus

Stan Lapidus is an inventor/entrepreneur. He has founded and led three public companies in diagnostics and molecular tools: Cytyc Corp., EXACT Sciences Corp. and Helicos BioSciences. SynapDx, his current start-up, is developing a breakthrough blood test for earlier autism detection. Stan has developed and patented more than 30 inventions, including the ThinPrep® Pap Smear. He teaches a course at MIT on Critical Reading of the Scientific Literature and also serves on the boards of T2 Biosystems, Fractyl Laboratories and Daktari Diagnostics. He was recently inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering.
