Emily LeProust

An early pioneer in the high-throughput synthesis and sequencing of DNA, Emily LeProust is disrupting the current process of DNA synthesis to enable the exponential growth of applications in multiple fields, including medicine, DNA data storage, next-generation sequencing, agricultural biology, and industrial chemicals. She has been named an Upstart 50 by San Francisco Business Times, a leading female founder by Quartz, one of Foreign Policy’s 100 Leading Global Thinkers for fast-tracking the building blocks of life, and one of Fast Company’s most creative people in business for synthesizing DNA faster than ever before. Prior to Twist Bioscience, Emily held escalating positions at Agilent Technologies where she architected the successful SureSelect product line that lowered the cost of sequencing and elucidated dozens of Mendelian diseases.
