Eisen

A pioneer in the study of microbial diversity, Dr. Jonathan Eisen focuses on the development and use of high-throughput laboratory and computational methods to study microbes by analyzing their genomes. Nilsson

Lisa Nilsson is a visual artist who grew up in Avon, Massachusetts. She found early inspiration in the makers-of-things in her family, including her father, a retired graphic designer, and his brother, an illustrator. Members of her family sewed, painted houses and watercolors, repaired car bodies, and mixed colors for false teeth.

Jonathan Mann is best known as the “song a day guy.” He’s been writing, recording, producing and posting a song and video a day since January 1st 2009. His videos have appeared all over the web from Boing Boing to the Huffington Post to Tech Crunch, and on national television, such as a live performance on The Rachel Maddow Show.

Dr. Franziska Michor is an Associate Professor of Computational Biology in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and in the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health – as well as the Principal Investigator of the NIH’s Physical Science-Oncology Center located at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Shapiro

Howard-Yana Shapiro is Global Director of Plant Science and External Research, Mars Incorporated. He is responsible for the plant science of their primary agricultural products, investigation of potential new plant-based solutions for use in their brands, and review and oversight of their existing and future plant-based research.

Scott

Jacob Scott is a radiation oncologist and cancer theoretician who uses primary mathematical methods to develop novel and hopefully translatable biological hypotheses. He came to this position in life by way of a tortuous career path that included astrophysics, nuclear engineering aboard a submarine, teaching physics and coaching wrestling at the high school level – all before beginning his doctorate in medicine.
