Greetings friends and colleagues!
When COVID-19 lockdowns began in the spring of 2020, we shared that TEDMED would take a hiatus to explore new ways to serve our community beyond our annual event.
Today we’re happy to announce an exciting new project: Introducing Plain Talk Reports, a free, online publication from TEDMED.
See Plain Talk ReportsThis quick-read publication is founded on the insight that medical myths are increasingly common, and many can be dangerous if you or a loved one believe them.
Accordingly, each edition of Plain Talk Reportspublishes a list of mistaken or unproven beliefs that many people hold about a serious medical topic. The Reportthen briefly summarizes current scientific evidence from reputable sources about each dangerous belief, written in plain, jargon-free English.
The first edition of Plain Talk Reportssurveys “50 Dangerous Beliefs about COVID-19.”
You can read both the U.S. and Global versions of the first Report for free at PlainTalkReports.com. TEDMED is also producing 1-minute videos that animate each “dangerous belief” that you can see on the Report’s YouTube Channel.
We invite you to take a look at this project, and if you like it, share with your friends and family, as well your social media contacts (Plain Talk Reportsis on Twitter @plaintalkreport).
