Company Profile:

@Point Of Care

@Point of Care we aggregate patient generated data from health apps, biometric devices, patient portals and combine this information with evidence based treatment plans for health care professionals to help achieve better outcomes and improve key quality measures. We have over 200,000 HCPs using our platform, and are revenue positive from 24 pharma clients. We are adding healthcare clients via strategic partnership with America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), 2 NJ based ACOs and are currently connecting 17,000 MS patients with their providers via a partnership with MSAA.

Q: Please tell us how your business idea was conceived. Was there an "aha" moment or did it evolve gradually?

A: Our "aha" moment was when the physicians who were the core subscribers of our clinical reference tool told us they are tired of patients asking them to review disorganized non-actionable unstructured data in their apps. We asked our 200,000+ subscribers: "If we could create a companion app that met your point-of-care requirements, would you use it?"  They said, "yes," and that’s what we did.

Q: What's the most inventive, innovative, or disruptive aspect of your initiative?

A: The ability of our on-demand sync technology to send patient-generated data between appointments and to sync this data to our clinical reference tool.  No one can do this now but us.

Q: How will it help people live to their greatest potential or contribute to making the world healthier?

A: Providing longitudinal data between appointments and giving actionable, organized patient data to the physician at the point of care is game-changing. We also track data in 14 chronic diseases for epidemiologists to use in their research.

Q: Five years from now, what would you like to be able to say has been your most important contribution to health?

A: That we have made “shared decision-making” between doctor and patient seamless and normal.

Q: What single word or phrase best describes the culture of your startup and why?

A: Knowledge and technology to simplify the doctor-patient relationship. We are medical domain experts in 14 chronic diseases.
