More about Isha
Isha Sesay is a multi award-winning CNN journalist who has covered every major story of the past 10 years – with a particular focus on stories of social injustice and their impact on women and girls, as well as other marginalized communities. She is also the Founder and President of W.E. (Women Everywhere) Can Lead, a non-profit organization working in her native country of Sierra Leone, to nurture and empower teenage girls to become Africa’s next generation of dynamic female leaders. Isha is currently putting the finishing touches on her first book, which details the mass abduction of the 276 Nigerian schoolgirls by the Boko Haram terror group in 2014. Their plight generated countless headlines around the world and the hashtag, #BringBackOurGirls. Harper Collins will publish Beneath the Tamarind Tree – A Story of Faith, Family and the Lost Schoolgirls of Boko Haram, next year.
