Sheri Fink

Having reported on health, medicine and science in every continent but Antarctica, New York Times correspondent Sheri Fink is the author of Five Days at Memorial. After obtaining an MD and PhD (in neuroscience) at Stanford, Sheri has spent most of her time writing about disaster and war-time medicine and collecting prizes--the Pulitzer, the National Magazine Award, the Overseas Press Club Lowell Thomas Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, the LA Times Book Prize, among others. Sheri is also the author of War Hospital, a book about medical professionals under siege during the genocide in Srebrenica. A former relief worker in disaster and conflict zones, Sheri is ready for the unpredictable challenges of being one of TEDMED’s inaugural co-hosts in San Francisco.
