Adam Gazzaley, MD, PhD
Professor of Neurology, Physiology and Psychiatry at UCSF
Adam Gazzaley knew at age seven that he wanted to be a scientist. He is the Founding Director of the Neuroscience Imaging Center and a Professor in Neurology, Physiology and Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco. His area of research focuses on the aging brain (subject of his doctoral work), perception, attention, cognition and memory, with an emphasis on the impact of distraction and multitasking on these abilities. A neurologist and neuroscientist who contributes to scientific literature as well as popular media, Adam hosted the PBS special The Distracted Mind with Dr. Adam Gazzaley and is also an avid nature photographer. Adam was UCSF’s inaugural co-host at TEDMED 2014.
